Children and young people: You said, We did

Over the last year we've undertaken 54 consultations with children, young people, their parents and carers on a number of topics including things for young people to do, safety and health.

We've spoken to 2,451 children and young people and 786 parents and carers.

What has changed because of your views?

  • The sexual health drop in service at Sydney Russell is now a multi-agency service.
  • Parent and carers decided how we should spend the Parents Participation Grant, which gives an opportunity to develop parental engagement in services for disabled children and young people.
  • Residents on Hart’s Lane and Ley’s Estate will decide what community safety projects should take place there.
  • An ex-offender has been commissioned to deliver citizenship based discussions in all secondary schools.
  • Young people have contributed to the overall plans for each of the new In-door Street Corner centres and will be able to see the difference this has made when the centres open.

Thank you to all of those who gave us their views, there will be many more opportunities to influence decisions again over the coming year.
